In video meetings, my head bobs up and down slightly. Nearly everyone asks, “Are you on an exercise ball?” I’m not. Instead, I’m on a treadmill — in a one-bedroom apartment that I share with my partner. I don’t even have room for a desk, but through the pandemic, this machine has been the bedrock of my mental and physical health.
