About Hipo

Hipo is a product development agency. We build and launch platforms for early stage and scaling startups from around the world. Our specialty is solving complex problems using an iterative approach. We have a very strong team culture, high retention rates and well-established processes for how we get things done. We bring this knowledge and expertise to every project.

We have been a remote first company since 2016, operating across 8 time zones as of today with 40 teammates. However the majority of our clients are in North America and the majority of our team is in Europe, so remote communication has been in our DNA since 2009. We are truly remote-first, meaning: You work from wherever you like, whenever you like.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking to hire a product manager with at least 4 years of experience managing product design and development projects.

Our expectation from this new teammate is to tackle day-to-day product ownership duties on 1 to 2 active projects. Our team members are very self sufficient, however a product manager is essential for every project.

• Document, prioritize and organize. A big part of the product manager’s day-to-day is to prioritize tickets, provide feedback on designs and features, document issues and write functional specs that explain user flows in detail. PM would work very closely with the technical and design leads throughout this process.
• Act as a “bulldozer” and clean the path ahead of the team . Product manager is responsible for making sure functional specs of a product are ready before the team tackles it, APIs and designs are made available for features on the roadmap, roadmap charts are up to date and any other requirements from the project stakeholders are prepared before the team needs them.
• Guide the product development and research process. We always make our complete team available to our clients, however a single point of contact is useful for providing updates during meetings, and making sure timeline and budget updates are provided. Beyond communication, product managers at Hipo are expected to lead the process, researching best practices and coming up with innovative solutions.
