What You’ll Be Working On
With dozens of projects a year and team members spread out across 16 different states and 6 countries, there is an enormous amount of work done behind the scenes to ensure the company operates smoothly and efficiently. Designing and maintaining effective, accurate financial controls and systems is a foundational component that has an enormous impact to the overall success of Very.
As Senior Finance Manager, you will be reporting directly to our CFO and your primary purpose is to implement financial policies that enable the organization to achieve its goals. You will be the primary owner of all day-to-day financial and accounting activities including our accounting system, policies, financial reports, and budgets. Your day-to-day will involve things like bookkeeping, processing AR/AP, analyzing budget to actual, and cash flow forecasting. A strong candidate will have experience developing financial performance dashboards and providing insights that level-up other roles and departments within the company.
Baseline skills include; excellent bookkeeping capabilities, a knowledge of accounting principles and how to apply them, background in the fundamentals of business management, and the ability to create accurate financial models.
Very is first and foremost a software consultancy. We tackle hard problems for clients who need a targeted, senior team to come in and provide specific solutions. Our customer base has expanded into the IoT and data science spaces due to our ability to develop hardware and software rapidly in parallel. Our projects in this domain have ranged from data acquisition and alerting for industrial power systems to automated self-pour beer taps. We do this by hiring the best and investing heavily in them, both personally and professionally.

How You’ll Be Compensated
We believe in a transparent, fair compensation structure and have developed our own open salary formula. Depending on your skill and experience, you can expect your base compensation to be somewhere between $50,000 and $75,000 upon joining the company. Because we also offer performance bonuses, a generous maternity/paternity leave policy, 401K matching, and numerous other employee benefits (including eliminating the stress and cost of commuting each day), this salary package ends up being on par, if not better than most other companies.
